Mr. Gerassimos Thomas, Deputy General Director of DG Energy visited EEAE on Friday, February 3, 2017. During the meeting issues concerning radiation protection and nuclear safety in the country were discussed. The discussion was mainly related to the transposition of Directives 2013/59/Euratom on basic safety standards and 2011/70 / Euratom on the management of radioactive waste.

A visit to the research reactor facilities of NCSR "Demokritos" was also included in the visit program.
